KindRoots Collective is growing — and we’re taking the next step by creating a food trailer.

This trailer will give us a reliable, mobile kitchen that allows us to serve affordable, seasonal food at markets and events, while creating a sustainable way to fund free community markets, accessible meals, and support for small local producers.

This isn’t about scaling up for profit. It’s about building something practical, resilient, and rooted in community.

Why a Food Trailer?

Over the last year, we’ve grown KindRoots from the ground up — hosting pitch-free markets, cooking affordable food through KindRoots Kitchen, and creating wild and seasonal pantry goods that now reach people across the UK and beyond.

So far, we’ve done this with limited equipment, borrowed spaces, and a lot of stubborn determination.
A dedicated food trailer changes that.

It allows us to:

Serve food consistently at markets, events, and pop-ups

Reduce our reliance on hired or shared kitchen spaces

Create a steady income stream to fund free and low-cost community events

Stay flexible, independent, and rooted in local places

What the Crowdfunder Will Fund

We’re raising £15,000 to buy and fully set up a KindRoots Kitchen food trailer.

This includes:

Purchasing a suitable food trailer

Full kitchen fit-out (equipment, storage, safety requirements)

Gas & electrics

Licensing, certification, and compliance

Initial branding and setup costs

We’re also putting our own money into this project and will continue to invest what we can as we go. However, without outside support, building the kitchen in this way would take a long time — slowing down our ability to host our free community markets, offer affordable food, and support local producers.

The crowdfunder allows us to bring the trailer into use much sooner, so it can start funding community activity rather than remaining an idea we’re gradually working towards.

Why This Matters

The food trailer isn’t just about selling meals — it’s about funding community without compromising values.

Income from the trailer will help us:

Keep hosting free, pitch-free community markets

Offer affordable, high quality food at events

Support small local businesses and producers

Reinvest into community projects rather than extract profit

It gives KindRoots a sustainable backbone, so we can keep doing the work without burning out or relying on constant short-term fundraising.

How You Can Support us

KindRoots Collective is a small, independent, two-person project built around shared meals, wild food, mutual support, and the belief that community should be accessible to everyone.

We’re not backed by investors or big organisations. Everything we’ve built so far has been funded through our own work, small-scale sales, and community support. That means when you support this crowdfunder, you’re directly helping us build something that stays rooted in people rather than profit.

By contributing to the KindRoots Kitchen crowdfunder, you’re helping us bring a community-funded food trailer into use sooner — allowing it to generate income that’s reinvested into free markets, affordable food, and support for small local producers.

As a thank you, the crowdfunder includes a range of rewards, from KindRoots products and meal vouchers to experiences and even tickets to an exclusive foraged, wild inspired feast. These are our way of giving something tangible back while keeping the focus on building long-term community infrastructure.

Every contribution, whether large or small, helps move this project forward and keeps KindRoots independent, value driven, and sustainable.

Whether you’re able to contribute, share the crowdfunder, or simply follow along, thank you for being part of the KindRoots community.

We couldn’t do this without you.
